Michael Glendenning was born in 1978 in Melbourne. He belongs to a lineage of Jewellers which dates back to the late 1800’s. As a young boy he remembers watching his dad, applying his honed boiler maker skills and his exciting journeys with Grandpa to the family Jewellery factory, where he would often find himself marvelling at the wonderful sounds and sights of jewellery being manufactured.
After attending University, Michael felt drawn back to the family jewellery business. At 21 he turned to the then 100 year old family business to work as an apprentice. His grandfather ensured that Michael was apprenticed to an array of jewellers in order to learn an array of different crafting skills. Once he had learnt everything that they could teach him Michael earned a degree in Gemmology and Diamond Grading, and went on to become a member of the National Council of Jewellery Valuers (NCJV).
After years of Valuing Jewellery; Michael recognized a rapid decline in the quality of jewellery being sold in Australia. This in turn led to Michael giving the family business a new direction.
